Team USA track athletes Keni Harrison and Jenna Prandini both came home from the Tokyo Olympics with a silver medal to their name: Harrison in the 100m hurdles, Prandini in the 4x100m relay. But for these best friends, who train together and live next door to each other in Austin, Tokyo was extra special, a once-in-a-lifetime event they got to share with each other as BFFs. So what’s it like to take on the Olympics with your best friend at your side?
From the TikTok Harrison recently shared: a lot of fun. The runners went from sharing a row on the 10-hour flight to Tokyo (and waiting in customs for four hours!) to training on the Team USA track and taking daily walks through the Olympic Village. And, of course, the friends cheered each other on through their races, with Prandini watching from the track as Harrison claimed silver in her hurdles final. With most family and friends unable to attend these Games, it must have been even more special for Harrison and Prandini to have each other as they raced for the podium. The only question we have is . . . who would win in a head-to-head race?! Check out the very wholesome TikTok for yourself above.
