The Ohio State women’s track and field season is over after finishing tied for 11th place at the NCAA Championships Saturday. The team had a final score of 19 points for the best showing of any Big Ten school.
The finish in Eugene, Oregon, represents the program’s best-ever finish at an NCAA outdoor championships. USC won the national championship with 74 total points.
Here are some Buckeye highlights from Saturday according to a release from the Ohio State Department of Athletics:

Senior sprinter Anavia Battle led the way for Ohio State. She scored six team points by placing third in the 200 meters with a time of 22.42. Battle earned first-team All-America honors for her efforts and she finishes with two such honors on the Hayward Field track on the campus of the University of Oregon as she was a second-team honoree earlier as part of the 4×100 relay.

Divine Oladipo set the Ohio State school record in the discus today. Her throw of 57.26m / 187-10 topped the 18-year-old record of 56.71m / 186-1 set by Krista Keir in 2003. Oladipo’s effort was good for ninth-place and second-team All-America status.

Adelaide Aquilla, who already won a national championship in the shot put at these outdoor championships, had a best throw in the discus today of 49.79m / 163-4 and did not make the final round.

Emma Nwofor, competing in the heptathlon, set a personal best on Saturday in the javelin with a throw of 48.22m / 148-4, jumped 5.41m / 17-9 in the long jump and also ran the 800 meters to finish 20th overall with 5,280 points. She earned honorable mention All-America honors for her efforts.
Believe it or not, this track and field competition puts an end to the crazy and unprecedented 2020-2021 Ohio State athletics schedule. Hopefully, things become much more normal from here on out.
