May 29—AMHERST — Norwalk junior Mason Hainline will represent the Truckers on the biggest stage next week.
Hainline ran in the 400-meter dash in the wind and rain on Friday at the Division I regional championships at Amherst High School. His time of 50.6 seconds was good to place fourth, earning the final spot to advance to next week’s state championship meet.
Hainline will compete at 4:35 p.m. in the preliminary race on Friday (June 4) at the Div. I state meet at Hilliard Darby High School. Hainline had qualified for the event by running a 51.51 to earn the eighth and final qualifying spot on Wednesday in the preliminary race.
Also on Friday, Norwalk sophomore Joscey Thomas placed 15th in the 800 run, as she turned in a time of 2:32.1.
