Veteran forward Paul Millsap has fallen out of the Nets rotation, and it sounds like his days in Brooklyn may now be numbered.
According to a report from The Athletic’s Shams Charania, Millsap and the Nets have agreed to try to find a new home for the 36-year-old where “he can be a greater contributor.”
A four-time All-Star with the Atlanta Hawks, Millsap signed a one-year deal with the Nets this offseason worth $2.6 million.
In 24 games this season, Millsap has averaged just 3.4 points and 3.7 rebounds in 11 minutes per game. He’s been a non-factor for the Nets lately, playing in just three of the team’s last 18 games.
The Nets’ record currently stands at 28-16, just a half-game back of the Chicago Bulls and Miami Heat for the top spot in the Eastern Conference. MVP candidate Kevin Durant is sidelined four-to-six weeks with an MCL sprain, but the team has recently welcomed Kyrie Irving back as a part-time player in road games.
