Nebraska is looking for a couple of defensive backs in their 2022 class and the search is continuing as they make a new offer to Adrian Brown from Cincinnati (Ohio) Sycamore this weekend.

The Huskers are the 10th offer for the 6-foot and 174-pound cornerback.

“I’ve been talking to Nebraska since February,” Brown said. “It started with coach Fisher on the phone with my coaches. I have been in constant communication with Sean Dillon.

“I was supposed to visit Lincoln on June 18th, but couldn’t due to COVID. Coach (Erik) Chinander sent me an edit and asked me how was I doing. We got on the phone with him and my coaches and talked, then Nebraska offered.”

While Nebraska has been recruiting and communicating with Brown for months now, the offer still came as a surprise to Brown.

“I had just come in from a workout and I was amazed that Nebraska offered, to be honest. I know that they have an amazing fan base and great tradition with their football program.”

The Huskers like Brown as a cornerback, but say he could be successful at more than one spot for them on the defensive side of the football.

“Nebraska told me that they like me as a defensive back,” Brown said. “They said that they think that I have the ability to be great at multiple positions in the secondary and not just cornerback. That sounds great to me.”

Brown had a couple of private workouts in June and also took a summer tour to hit a number of schools.

“I went on a private workout visit to Georgia and Clemson. I didn’t participate at Georgia because I wasn’t feeling well, though. I took a tour and went to SMU, TCU, Georgia Tech and Houston.”

The offer from the Huskers is his 10th total offer. It is his second offer from a school in the Big Ten.

“I have nine offers besides Nebraska,” Brown said. “I have ECU, Kentucky, Minnesota, Tennessee, Oregon, Oregon State, Arkansas State, Missouri and Louisiana-Monroe.”

Brown has several visits planned once the dead period ends, including a return trip to Clemson, a trip to Arkansas State, and then he would like to get to Nebraska to see a game.
