Here is the latest news and possible return dates for Mets players on the IL…
Marcus Stroman (hip) *not on IL
Luis Rojas said after the Mets‘ win on June 26 that Stroman will be starting on schedule on the 27th. Before the game, the manager said Stroman ‘feels good,’ but the Mets wanted to see how he handled his workout that day before officially deciding whether or not he can pitch on normal rest.
Stroman was pulled from his June 22 start against the Atlanta Braves in the top of the second inning due to hip soreness, with an MRI after the game coming back clean.
J.D. Davis (hand)
Davis is set to begin playing minor league rehab games starting this Wednesday, The New York Post’s Mike Puma reported Sunday.
The Mets transferred Davis on the 60-day IL on Friday, making him eligible to return as early as July 1.
Potential return date: July
Carlos Carrasco (hamstring)
Luis Rojas said on June 26 that Carrasco is throwing a side sessions off the edge of the mound for the first time in months, noting that Carrasco is ‘trending right’ and that he ‘feels great.’
Carrasco had been throwing off flat ground and received a PRP injection on June 11.
Mets president Sandy Alderson said on June 10 during an interview on MLB Network that he’s “hopeful” Carrasco will be able to return at some point between early and late July.
Potential return date: July
Jeurys Familia (hip)
Rojas said on June 26 that Familia “should be ready to go” as soon as he is able to return from the 10-day IL on July 1. He will throw a full side session on June 27.
Familia landed on the 10-day IL on June 21 with a right hip impingement.
Potential return date: July 1
Jonathan Villar (right calf)
After Rojas said he wasn’t available for the first game of the June 25 doubleheader, Villar was placed on the 10-day IL with a right calf strain, retroactive to June 22.
Villar hasn’t played since June 21, when he exited early against the Braves with right calf tightness. He received a clean MRI on June 23.
Potential return date: TBD
Brandon Nimmo (finger)
Nimmo is expected to be activated from the IL next week, Rojas said on June 25.
The Mets’ schedule next week begins on June 28 when they play a makeup game against the Nationals in Washington, D.C.
Nimmo, who began his rehab assignment for Triple-A Syracuse on June 20, went 1-for-3 at the plate with a run scored in the first game of Syracuse’s doubleheader on June 24.

Tomás Nido (wrist)
A clean MRI came back on Nido’s wrist, Rojas said June 23. But Nido landed on the 10-day IL, retroactive to June 22, with a right wrist contusion on June 23.
Nido got hit on the wrist June 21 against Atlanta on a 92-mph sinker.
Potential return date: July
Dellin Betances (shoulder)
Betances’ rehab assignment has moved to Triple-A Syracuse, and Scott said on June 22 that he believes Betances could be joining the Mets sometime in late June/early July.
However, Betances has been hit hard in rehab. He has allowed eight earned runs in 3.2 innings. On June 25, he allowed three earned while walking two and hitting a batter and recorded just one out.
Betances has been out since April 7.
Potential return date: Late June/early July
Noah Syndergaard (TJS recovery)
Syndergaard was shut down from throwing for six weeks on May 27 after an MRI revealed inflammation, but no structural damage.
After the six-week shutdown, Syndergaard will need to again build his arm strength up. Zack Scott said on June 11 that he’s still not throwing.
Mets president Sandy Alderson said on June 10 that Sept. 1 is a potential return date for Syndergaard.

Johneshwy Fargas (shoulder)
An MRI confirmed that Fargas suffered a sprained AC joint in his left shoulder while crashing into the center field fence on May 24. He was placed on the IL on May 26.
Potential return date: TBD
Tommy Hunter (back)
Hunter was placed on the IL on May 21 due to lower back pain.
Scott said on June 11 that Hunter’s back is still bothering him, and the team is trying to pinpoint exactly what’s going on.
Potential return date: TBD
Jordan Yamamoto (shoulder)
The Mets originally placed Yamamoto on the 10-day IL before transferring him to the 60-day lL on May 25 to make room on the 40-man roster for Billy McKinney.
Potential return date: Late July
Robert Gsellman (lat)
The Mets transferred Gsellman to the 60-day IL on June 23, shortly after he was shut down from throwing for six weeks due to a lat injury.
Gsellman last pitched on June 19 against the Washington Nationals, when he allowed one run on three hits in 2.0 innings while serving as the opener.
Potential return date: September
Joey Lucchesi (elbow)
Scott said on June 22 that Lucchesi is indeed going to need Tommy John surgery after it was revealed he suffered a torn UCL. He’ll have surgery Thursday.
The Mets placed Lucchesi on the 10-day IL on June 19 with left elbow inflammation, but now he will be lost for the rest of the season. New York moved him June 23 to the 60-day IL.
Lucchesi pitched 5.1 scoreless innings against the Nationals on June 18, throwing a season-high 90 pitches.
