With difficult weather conditions in play for Monday night’s victory over the Buffalo Bills, the New England Patriots only passed the football three times. They took to the ground and tallied 222 yards on the evening.
Quarterback Mac Jones had a relatively easy night, completing two passes for 12 yards. Jones lightened workload prompted some good-natured ribbing from his teammates. Linebacker Matthew Judon played his part in the victory as well, recording three tackles and a sack. In a game where defense ruled the night, he was able to make his presence felt.
He also was able to make his presence felt at his postgame press conference. Following the victory, he took some lighthearted jabs at Jones.
“Just hats off to the offense — really everybody, probably besides Mac,” a smiling Judon told reporters. “He didn’t really do nothing besides hand the ball off.”
With the Patriots running the football 46 times, Jones was certainly not a focal point of the gameplan on Monday. Jones and the Patriots will have a chance to rest before facing the Indianapolis Colts on December 18.
