Jul. 2—Penn Can Speedway in Susquehanna holds its annual Fireworks Night tonight.

A large fireworks show highlights a program that includes Modifieds, 602 Sportsman, Factory Stocks, Four-Cylinder Stocks, 600cc Modifieds and Juniors. Street Stocks are off because of the Chad Sindoni Memorial Race at Afton, New York, Motorsports Park.

It also is Spaulding Foundation Night. The nonprofit organization provides money for individuals injured in race-related accidents.

There will be giveaways throughout the night as well.

Gates open at 5 p.m. with hot laps beginning at 6:30 p.m. and racing starting at 7 p.m. Grandstand admission is $15 for adults with children 10 and under free with a paid adult.

Race for the Red

Pocono Raceway and the American Red Cross host their 16th annual “Ride for the Red Blood Drive” on Tuesday at the Long Pond track from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Appointments to donate blood can be made by calling 1-800-RED CROSS or visiting redcrossblood.org and using sponsor code “POCONO.” Attendees can use the Gate 1 Tunnel entrance.

Besides donating blood, individuals can drive their personal vehicles around Pocono’s 2.5-mile triangular track for $10 per lap. Blood donors should do the lap(s) before giving blood. Proceeds benefit the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund.

Every individual who donates blood will automatically be entered into a drawing to win the grand prize of a $250 Pocono Raceway gift card that can be used to purchase tickets or merchandise. Other prizes, including autographed NASCAR driver items, will also be given away.

Also, Suburban Propane will give donors a $10 electronic gift card.

Since starting the blood drive 15 years ago, Pocono Raceway has collected approximately 3,000 pints.
