Sep. 5—TROUTMAN — Myles Crisp passed for four touchdowns and ran for another as High Point Christian defeated South Iredell, 40-28, on Friday at South Iredell.

HPCA built a 27-7 on Crisp’s four TD throws, the last 87 yards to Darius Kane in the third quarter. South Iredell closed to 33-28 but Kane sealed the victory with a 37-yard interception return for a touchdown.

Crisp’s other TD throws covered 11 yards to Isaiah Sanders and 17 and 11 yards to Jalen Smith. Crisp also scored for the 1 in the fourth quarter to interrupt South Iredell’s comeback.

Crisp completed 14 of 25 passes for 283 yards. Kane had five catches for 103 yards, and Smith had five catches for 145 yards.

Glenn Bullock led the defense with 13 tackles that included one sack and also caused and recovered a fumble. Benny Limbacher added eight tackles and Sean O’Brien seven.

HPCA improves to 1-1 and plays host to Asheville Christian on Friday at 7 p.m. South Iredell drops to 1-2 and plays host to East Forsyth,

THOMASVILLE — East Davidson defeated Trinity 50-19 in nonconference play Friday at East. East Davidson improved to 2-1 while Trinity dropped to 1-2.

BISHOP, GRAHAM

GRAHAM — Bishop McGuinnes built a 20-point lead and defeated Graham 20-7 in nonconference action Friday at Graham.

Bishop (1-1) scored six in the first quarter and eight in the second. The team each scored once in the fourth as Graham dropped to 1-1.

S. GUILFORD, W. GUILFORD

GREENSBORO — Southern Guilford rolled past Western Guilford 30-13 in nonconference football Friday at Western. The Storm improved to 1-1.

GLENN, CHAMBERS

CHARLOTTE — Glenn fell 30-6 against Chambers in nonconference football Friday at Chambers.

The Bobcats dropped to 1-1.

GRIZZLIES FIND REPLACEMENT

MIDWAY — Oak Grove announced Saturday that it will play Central Cabarrus on Friday. The Grizzlies were originally scheduled to face Lexington.

SOCCER NC LEADERSHIP, TRIAD BAPTIST

KERNERSVILLE — Anakin Leister scored three goals and David Truhe added two as N.C. Leadership academy defeated Triad Baptist 7-0 on Friday.

Brandon Mendoza and Ethan Parker added a goal each for the Falcons. Karston Keomalaythong, Cade Shoemaker, Truhe and Donovan Roberts had an assist each.

LEDFORD, LAKE NORMAN

MOORESVILLE — Ledford and Lake Norman battled to a 2-2 tie Friday at Lake Norman.

Ledford is 2-1-1 while Lake Norman is 2-2-1.

KANNAPOLIS — Cannon defeated visiting Wesleyan Christian 25-21, 25-21, 25-22 on Friday.

Leaders for Wesleyan included Ava Brown with 10 kills, Faith Hendrick with 16 digs and Cate Barnwell with 23 assists.
