On Monday, the NBA announced the results for the 2020-21 edition of the All-Defensive team voting.

Golden State Warriors guard Draymond Green was named for the first team with 80 votes and a total of 176 votes. Green trailed only Utah’s Rudy Gobert and Philadelphia’s Ben Simmons for first-team votes. Milwaukee’s Jrue Holiday and Giannis Antetokounmpo rounded out the league’s 2020-21 All-Defensive first team.

Along with Philadelphia’s Joel Embiid and Matisse Thybulle, Los Angeles Clippers forward Kawhi Leonard joined Miami’s Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo on the NBA’s All-Defensive second team.

Following Green’s fourth nod to the NBA’s All-Defensive first team, the Golden State Warriors forward received a congratulatory message from a member of the Los Angeles Lakers. On his Instagram story, six-time All-Defensive team player LeBron James congratulated Green for the defensive honor.

Although the Warriors lost to James and the Lakers in the opening Western Conference play-in game, Green showed off his defensive prowess, battling Anthony Davis up and down the court throughout the contest.

Averaging 1.7 steals and 0.8 blocks, Green helped push the Warriors defense to a top-five defensive rating at 109.7.

Along with winning the Defensive Player of the Year award in 2017, Green has now been named to the league All-Defensive first or second team six different times in his career. In 2020-21, the 31-year-old forward finished in third for the voting for the Defensive Player of the Year.
