Here is the latest Knicks news and picks from the 2021 NBA Draft.

FIRST ROUND

No. 19 pick: Traded to Hornets for future first-round pick

After not trading up in the first round, the Knicks then traded their 19th overall pick to the Charlotte Hornets in exchange for a future first-round pick, SNY NBA Insider Ian Begley has confirmed.

The Knicks drafted Texas’ Kai Jones for Charlotte, as the trade won’t become official until after the draft.

No. 21 pick: Traded to Clippers for No. 25 pick and 2024 second-rounder

After trading out of the No. 19 pick, the Knicks also dealt their No. 21 pick, sending it to the Los Angeles Clippers, SNY NBA Insider Ian Begley confirms.

The Knicks have moved down to No. 25 in the first round, picking up a 2024 second-round pick (originally from the Pistons) in the process.

No. 25 pick: Houston G Quentin Grimes (via Clippers)

After trading out of each of their first two picks, the Knicks finally made their first selection of the night at pick No. 25, taking University of Houston guard Quentin Grimes.

The 6-foot-5 guard averaged 17.8 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 2.0 assists, shooting 40.3 percent from three-point range.

Last season, Grimes was named Third Team All-American and was the Co-Player of the Year in the AAC.

According to SNY NBA Insider Ian Begley, Tom Thibodeau was among the Knicks contingent who was impressed with Grimes during the pre-draft process.

SECOND ROUND

No. 32 pick: Traded to Thunder for picks No. 34 and 36.

The Knicks stayed true to form in the second round, sending the No. 32 pick to OKC for picks 34 and 36.

No. 34 pick: Lithuanian G Rokas Jokubaitis (via Thunder)

The Knicks went the international route, selecting Lithuanian point guar Rokas Jokubaitis.

A 20-year-old listed at 6-foot-4, 194 pounds, Jokubaitis signed a four-year deal with FC Barcelona in the EuroLeague.

No. 36 pick: WVU G Miles McBride (via Thunder)

With the 36th pick, the Knicks selected WVU G Miles McBride. The point guard was Second Team All-Big 12 in 2020-21, averaging 15.9 points and 4.8 assists.
