The Philadelphia 76ers will continue to be at the forefront of a ton of trade rumors leading up to the Feb. 10 deadline in the NBA. They have a big domino in Ben Simmons who if he is traded would set the NBA world on fire considering everything that has gone on with him.

At this point, everybody is familiar with what the Sixers want and how they are going to handle this situation. They are not going to trade him for anything less than a top 25 player and Simmons does not intend to play again for the Sixers as he is willing to sit out the entire season to get a trade done.

Another factor to consider with Simmons is Tobias Harris. Philadelphia wants to attach Harris’ contract to any Simmons deal which would make a deal even tougher, but there is one team that could be intrigued enough to do that deal and that is the Sacramento Kings.

Per Sam Amick on “The Athletic NBA Show” podcast, the Kings could be beginning to ponder the idea of a Simmons and Harris deal (h/t HoopsHype):

The Kings I do believe are actually pondering the idea of doing (Ben) Simmons and (Tobias) Harris. I don’t think that’s off the table.

The Kings are a team that could offer up De’Aaron Fox or Tyrese Haliburton and the two teams have discussed a Fox swap, but Philadelphia still would prefer to acquire that top 25 player for Simmons. One idea could be making the move for Fox, but then flipping him in the offseason at some point, but that would seem a bit far-fetched for Philadelphia at the moment.
