The New York Jets took the shot at Tom Brady that everyone was thinking.
The former Tampa Bay Buccaneers and New England Patriots quarterback announced his retirement on Instagram on Tuesday. It came after reports on Saturday that Brady would retire — reports which the quarterback denied. He went so far as to call the Buccaneers to say he was undecided. It appears, however, that he simply wanted to end his career on his own terms and with his own words.
That said, the Jets responded with what — in the back of everyone’s minds — we all were probably thinking: “This better be real.” Absolutely perfect. After the false alarm on Saturday, it was fair to be somewhat skeptical on Tuesday.

Before Patriots fans get too testy, check out what they posted afterward.
But seriously, congrats on a first-ballot, Hall of Fame career, @TomBrady.
