In a surprise move, the Jets released kicker Sam Ficken, and signed Matt Ammendola to replace him.
Last year, Ficken made 13 of 15 field goal attempts, and 12 of his 15 extra-point attempts.
Ammendola went undrafted in 2020 out of Oklahoma State, and was with the Carolina Panthers this offseason, but was released in May. He connected on 60 of 78 field-goal attempts (76.9%) in college.
