Jaylen Brown ribs Tatum over tooth incident in Celtics-Bucks originally appeared on NBC Sports Boston

Jaylen Brown might be sending his next dental bill to Jayson Tatum.

In the first quarter of the Boston Celtics‘ Christmas Day matchup with the Boston Celtics, Brown lost a piece of his front tooth when Tatum inadvertently elbowed him in the face while trying to grab a rebound.

Brown was all (toothless) smiles after the play, and head coach Ime Udoka actually found Brown’s missing tooth on the court.

But Brown couldn’t resist jabbing his All-Star teammate after the game.

Tatum seemed willing to right his wrong, though.

While Tatum and Brown each scored 25 points, the Celtics suffered another vexing loss, blowing a 13-point lead with five minutes remaining to fall 117-113.

Celtics-Bucks takeaways: Shorthanded C’s collapse late in Milwaukee

Boston is enduring a frustrating season marked by injuries, COVID-related absences and inconsistent play. Tatum (25.6 points, 8.6 rebounds per game) and Brown (22.6 points, 5.7 rebounds per game) are both playing well, though, and if the C’s want to turn things around, they’ll need their two All-Stars to lead the way.

Fortunately it seems like Tatum and Brown are getting along despite Tatum’s inadvertent shot at his fellow star.
