Damn.

One word. One simple word tweeted by Cincinnati Bengals WR Ja’Marr Chase describes a myriad of emotions from the team.

That one word reflects just how close the Bengals were to winning their first Super Bowl in franchise history.

Chase certainly did his part in trying to make that dream a reality, catching five passes for 89 yards, including an incredible catch in the first quarter and a catch on the final drive that looked like it was going to give to Bengals a spark before Aaron Donald shut the door a few plays later.

Chase was one of three Bengals with five catches against the Rams, along with Tyler Boyd and Joe Mixon.

But unfortunately for Chase and the Bengals, that one-word tweet represents the fact that no one will remember his five catches because the Bengals came up short when it mattered most. They’ll remember Cooper Kupp’s game-winning touchdown that earned him Super Bowl MVP honors. They’ll remember Aaron Donald’s two huge stops to seal the Lombardi Trophy for the Rams.

Sometimes, one word is all you need.
