Boyle County 31, Tates Creek 6: Cole Lanter scored three times, two on short passes from Jagger Gillis and one on a 2-yard plunge for the Rebels in game one of the Little Caesars Fort Harrod Bowl in Harrodsburg Saturday.
Lanter had 85 yards receiving and 33 yards rushing and also had an interception on defense. Dalton Stone’s TD put the Rebels up 21-0 in the first quarter. Kentucky commit Jackson Smith hit a 21-yard field goal.
Tates Creek’s lone score came as the horn sounded for halftime on a 26-yard throw from Andrew Witherington to Marquevion Smith.
Mercer County 34, Madison, Ind., 13: Jaylen Lukitsch find the endzone via run and a fumble recovery return as the Titans ran out to a 34-0 lead game two of their Fort Harrod Bowl.
Brayden Dunn opened the scoring with a 2-yard dive. Thaddeus Mays option a reverse into a 32-yard pass to Riley Peavler and Aaron Caton caught a TD from Trosper Buchanan in the route.
Mercer County and Boyle County will be part of another bowl next week as the Rebels take on Lexington Christian and the Titans face Bryan Station in Danville.
Highlands 21, Bowling Green 18: The Bluebirds triumphed in former Lexington Catholic Coach Bob Sphire’s debut for the Fort Thomas school. Charlie Noon threw TD passes of 63 yards to Carson Class and 11 yards to Brennan Kelsay. Sam Robinson had a pair on interceptions, including a 37-yard pick six that put Highlands up 21-3 in the first half.
East Carter 22, Montgomery County 20: Charlie Terry powered in three short-yardage TDs and a two-point conversion for the raiders. The Indians got TDs from Alex Ison and Jacob Diallo.
Taylor County 34, Rockcastle County 28: Trailing 28-14 in the fourth quarter, the Cardinals scored 20 unanswered points with TDs by Peyton Smith, Keeshon Smith and Kayden Smith, the last on an 80-yard bomb from quarterback Gavin Oliver with 1:13 left in the game. For the Rockets, Landon Dillingham caught a pair of TD passes from Cameron Wright.
Knox Central 30, Clay County 22: Quarterback Steve Partin scored on a pair of short runs and Abe Brock caught TD passes of 69 yards and 26 yards in the win. Brenton Willoughby also scored for the Panthers.
South Warren 30, North Hardin 7: Western Kentucky commit Caden Veltkamp completed TD passes to Cristian Conyers (36-yard screen) and Eldar Dervisevic (11-yard slant) and ran for another score for the Spartans who held the Trojans scoreless through three quarters. Evan Lee added a 7-yard TD run in the rout.
Beechwood 35, Fairdale 0: Avery Courtney scored four times, two on rushes and two on passes of 36 and 20 yards from reigning Mr. Football Cameron Hergott as the Class 2A defending champs rolled.
