Sep. 17—EAST LYME — Riley Walsh had a goal and an assist as East Lyme beat East Hampton 2-0 in a nonleague boys’ soccer game on Thursday night.

Walsh scored off a Jose Navas corner kick in the 31st minute and assisted on Diego Virgen’s goal in the 50th minute.

Connor Piper made seven saves for East Lyme (3-1) and Drew DiStefano made nine saves for East Hampton (1-2).

In other games:

— Lyman Memorial won its ECC Division III opener, beating Killingly 1-0. Cody Rahmann scored the goal, Nick Zaprianov had the assist and Joshua Person made three saves for the Bulldogs (2-2). Trent Pichie made four saves for Killingly (2-2, 0-2).

H.S. volleyball

— Chrismaela Bouquet had 20 points and three aces as New London beat Killingly 25-17, 25-22 and 25-19. Wonnonah Amar had eight points, five assists and seven digs, Nalyce Dudley had 16 points and eight digs, Je’Licia Rivera had 17 points and eight kills and Unique Ketter had seven digs for the Whalers (2-2).

Rivera had 14 points, four kills and one ace to highlight New London’s 25-21, 25-13 and 25-13 loss to Plainfield on Wednesday night. Dudley added nine service points, six kills, two blocks and eight digs for the Whalers while Amar had two kills, eight assists and 12 digs, Jennifer Fiestas had seven serve points, seven digs and three assists, and Yarielis Ortiz had 10 digs before leaving in the second game due to injury.

— Montville beat Putnam 3-1 in its home opener on Wednesday. The Indians lost the first game 25-22 then rallied to win 25-18, 25-18, 25-12. Maya Hillman had 10 aces and 10 kills, Christyna Winstead had eight aces, Karina Huang had 11 digs and Reagan Buscetto had 27 assists for Montville (1-1).

Field hockey

— Waterford played to a 1-1 tie with Woodstock Academy in an Eastern Connecticut Conference game. Lauren Santos scored for Waterford (0-3-1, 0-1-1).

— Hannah Nulick scored three goals as Stonington beat Fitch 5-1 in an ECC game. Sandy McGugan had a goal and an assist, Gabby Dimock had a goal and Dillon Griscom, Maddie Mendez and Sophia Fernholz had assists for Stonington (2-1, 2-0). Sophie Ash scored and Madison Kite-Gerrish made four saves for Fitch (1-1, 1-1).

Girls’ soccer

— Lyman Memorial and East Hampton played to a 1-1 tie in a nonleague game. Magda Carpenter scored for Lyman (3-0-1) and teammate Morgan Tartaglia made three saves.
