This 13-year-old is competing in the Olympics

and will be the youngest athlete on the German squad
She qualified earlier this year
in a sport that is still dominated by men
“Especially at competitions in Germany, it’s almost all men. But it’s a big family, a big community. As a woman or a girl, you’re not excluded, but you’re also let go. You are respected. And I also know a few people who are critical of skateboarding at the Olympics. But I just think it’s a good chance for skateboarding to present itself and show the world what a great sport it is.”
