Aftershocks from the National Football League’s investigation into workplace misconduct at the Washington Football Team are prompting some team owners to take the rare step of questioning the league’s handling of the high-profile investigation.

Although the NFL unveiled its conclusions from that investigation back in July, the controversy roared back to life in the middle of this season after offensive emails connected to the probe, first reported by The Wall Street Journal, led to the resignation of Las Vegas Raiders coach Jon Gruden.
