Former Oklahoma Sooners quarterback Austin Kendall appears will apparently suit up for his third college team this season. Kendall spent three years with the Sooners and played in six games over that span. In 2016 he played two games and then four more in 2018. He transferred to West Virginia ahead of the 2019 season.
During his six games with Oklahoma, Kendall threw 39 passes for 265 yards and three touchdowns. Over the last two seasons with the Mountaineers, Kendall played in 11 games, throwing for 2,153 yards and 14 touchdowns. He helped lead them to a bowl victory over Army in the final game of the 2020 season. After four seasons for two teams, he will transfer again but this time outside of the Big 12 Conference.
According to 247Sports, the former four-star Oklahoma commit will head to the state of Louisiana with the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs in 2021.
Former Oklahoma and West Virginia quarterback Austin Kendall is transferring to Louisiana Tech, 247Sports’ Chris Hummer reported Thursday morning. Kendall, who served in a backup role to both Baker Mayfield and Kyler Murray at Oklahoma, is entering his sixth year of eligibility.
Kendall entered the NCAA transfer portal in January after spending the previous two seasons at West Virginia. In 2020, Kendall completed 11 of 23 passes (47.8%) for 164 yards and two touchdowns to zero interceptions. – Clint Buckley, 247Sports
Coming out of high school in North Carolina, Kendall was the No. 7 player in the state and the No. 9 ranked pro-style quarterback of the 2016 recruiting cycle. He will try to become the full-time starter for Louisiana Tech in what should be his final year of eligibility.
