Former Ohio State linebacker and first-round draft pick Darron Lee has found himself a new home.
Since being selected by the New York Jets in the first round of the 2016 NFL draft, Lee has struggled to carve out a consistent role with a team. He was traded to the Kansas City Chiefs three years into his rookie contract with the Jets, but only saw limited playing time. He then signed a deal with the Buffalo Bills prior to the 2020 season but again was buried on the depth chart.
Now, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Lee will give it another go with a fourth team, the Las Vegas Raiders.
Despite the inability to carve out a niche in the NFL thus far, when he’s been on the field, Lee has been somewhat productive. He has 273 tackles, four sacks, and three interceptions over a five-year career that’s also seen him start 38 games.
The New Albany product will now look to revive his career alongside other former Buckeyes Damon Arnette, Johnathan Hankins, Liam McCullough.
