Texas is searching for immediate contributors for next season.
Much of the attention has been focused on the transfer portal this offseason, and Steve Sarkisian and his staff have already offered several players in the portal.
On top of that, Texas is benefiting from head coaching changes at several Power Five programs. It’s allowing Sarkisian’s staff to target sudden decommits with hopes of closing out the 2022 recruiting class on a high note.
One of the primary targets for Texas right now is former LSU commit Decoldest Crawford. Shortly after he announced his decommitment from the Tigers due to the recent coaching changes, reports began to surface that the wide receiver was in the midst of planning a visit to Texas.
Days later, Crawford hinted at his top four schools via Twitter. Auburn, Nebraska, Texas and Florida appear to be in the mix.
According to 247Sports, Crawford is a three-star prospect and rated the No. 58 wide receiver in the 2022 recruiting class.
Crawford was a very productive receiver in his time at Green Oaks High School (Shreveport, LA), where he racked 119 catches, 2,013 yards and 17 touchdowns in three seasons.
