Not too long ago, fantasy football managers were lamenting the landing spot for rookie tight end Brock Bowers, selected with the 13th pick in the 2024 NFL Draft by the Las Vegas Raiders. Without a solid answer at quarterback and a less-than-exciting offense, his prospects to have a Sam LaPorta-esque rookie season seemed grim.

As it turns out, we couldn’t have been more wrong. Heading into Week 17, Bowers is the overall TE1 by a 20-point margin over the next highest-scoring TE (George Kittle), just nine yards short of Mike Ditka’s rookie TE receiving record set back in 1961 and just 6.2 PPR points shy of LaPorta’s 2023 record-setting year in terms of PPR scoring. Can he continue his historic season to help fantasy football managers secure a championship in Week 17?
