It was a grand final you absolutely had to watch.

Execration, lead by Patrick “E2MAX” James B.Caidic, had just ran over EVOS Legends in the lower bracket final to book their revenge rematch spot against Blacklist International at the MLBB Southeast Asia Cup (MSC).

Blacklist International had previously beat Execration 4-3 in a thrilling grand final for the MPL PH Season 7 title. This time, it was to be a repeat of the MPL PH S7 finals, with both Filipino teams looking to prove themselves to be the best team in the world.

Alas for Blacklist International, who were down 3-1 in the grand final, any hope for a repeat of their reverse sweep performance was not to be.

Unfortunately, a dominant performance by 16-year-old Execration gold laner Grant “Kelra” Duane Pillas shut them down completely in the fifth game to seal the deal.

Going into the grand final, Blacklist International was undefeated, having not dropped a single game. Confidence was high, and Blacklist International took the first game with absolute ease, wrapping the game at under 12 minutes.

Execration, however, did not panic. The second game saw Execration bouncing back in style, stomping Blacklist International in a 12 minute 50 second match. Blacklist International just did not have an answer for Kiel VJ “Kielvj” Hernandez’s Brody and Kelra’s Kagura, who lead the team in kills and networth.

Game 3 saw Blacklist international adjusting and getting an early and mid-game lead. However, Execration found a favorable team fight as Blacklist International was sieging the middle inhibitor turret, and turned the game around with a great team fight.

The fourth game was a 23-minute nail biter, with Blacklist International again taking the early game lead, but Execration seemed to have the script to their victory in hand, with a big team fight again with Renzio “Renzio’s” S. Cadua’s Paquito making plays to allow Kelra’s Lunox to take kills.

For the final game, Execration simply went all out and took the early game fights to allow Kelra’s Chang’E to accrue a 15/2/5 KDA. It was all over for Blacklist International, and the dream of a reverse sweep gone.

Execration can now safely say they are the best MLBB team in the world, and the MSC 2021 championship comes with a prize of US$70,000. Meanwhile, Blacklist International will have to console themselves with US$30,000 as runner-ups.
