Team previews

Netherlands (+1200 to win Euro 2020)

The Dutch get a fantastic draw in their Euro group stage after missing the tournament in 2016. The Netherlands went 6-1-1 in qualifying and are led by Georginio Wijnaldum and Memphis Depay. The two could soon be Barcelona teammates in addition to being national team cohorts. The Netherlands would have lower odds to win the tournament if Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk was healthy, but he’s missed the entire season because of a knee injury sustained in 2020.

Best bet

Netherlands to get 9 points in the group stage (+250)

Ukraine (+8000)

Remember Andriy Shevchenko? He’s now the coach of the Ukranian national team. The Ukrainians won six games during qualifying and didn’t lose as they allowed just four goals. Atlanta’s Ruslan Malinovskyi is the fulcrum of the midfield and he’ll likely be on the filed with Manchester City’s Oleksandr Zinchenko and West Ham’s Andriy Yarmolenko.

Best bet

Under 3.5 goals in the group stage (-125)

Austria (+10000)

The Austrians are comprised largely of players from the Bundesliga and are led by former Bayern Munich defender David Alaba. He recently left the German giants on a free transfer and signed with Real Madrid. Alaba is the team’s biggest star and the attack will rely on former West Ham and current Shanghai Port striker Marko Arnautovic. He scored six goals during qualifying. Austria hasn’t won a game at a major tournament since the 1990 World Cup.

Best bet

Under 3.5 goals in the group stage (-115)

North Macedonia (+20000)

Welcome to the big stage, North Macedonia. It’s the first major tournament for the team since its inception as an official FIFA team in 1994. North Macedonia qualified for the Euros via the Nationl League playoffs and beat Georgia 1-0 on a goal by Goran Pandev to advance to the tournament. Pandev, 37, is the greatest soccer player in the country’s history.

Best bet

North Macedonia to score 1 point in the group stage (+225)
