How to bet

BetMGM has lines and props for every game and possible angle on Euro 2020. BetMGM is available in 10 states across the country.

The Euro 2020 favorites

France (+450)

England (+550)

Belgium (+600)

Germany (+800)

Spain (+800)

Italy (+800)

Portugal (+800)

Italy’s odds have dropped in recent days as bettors are wising up to the Italians’ easy group and load of talent. France opened as the favorite to win the tournament and has stayed that way while England’s attacking options means the English are the No. 2 favorite.

Favorites for top scorer

Harry Kane, England (+600)

Romelu Lukaku, Belgium (+600)

Kylian Mbappe, France (+800)

Cristiano Ronaldo, Portugal (+1200)

Memphis Depay, Netherlands (+1600)

Karim Benzema, France (+1600)

Ciro Immobile, Italy (+1800)

Alvaro Morata, Spain (+2200)

Antoine Griezmann, France (+2200)

The top goal scorer typically plays for a team that makes a deep run in the tournament. You can pair your bet on top scorer with your bet to win the tournament or hedge a bit and place it on a player for a team you also think will make it to at least the semifinals.

There’s a danger in picking a France player for top scorer even if the French are the favorites for the tournament. France’s wealth of attacking options — and a tendency to play some staid soccer at the 2018 World Cup — means that one player may not rack up enough goals to challenge for the Golden Boot.

The Group of Death: Group F

Three of the top seven favorites to win the tournament are in Group F. It features World Cup champion France, defending Euro champions Portugal and perennial contenders Germany. All three are among the favorites because four third-place teams advance to the knockout rounds. It’s very possible that all three advance. But don’t sell Hungary short. If the Hungarians get an upset win over any of these three teams in the group stage, the Euro dreams of the loser could be over.

Pay close attention to the bracket

It’s important to keep the knockout round bracket in mind when you make your bet on the tournament winner. England is in Group D and will play a team from Group F — likely to be France, Portugal or Germany — in the Round of 16 if it finishes in the top two of its group. Meanwhile, the second-place teams from Group A and Group B and Group D and Group E meet in the Round of 16. We already know that two of the eight quarterfinal teams will be second-place teams from the group stage.

While England and the second-place team from Group F could end up with a ridiculously tough draw, the Group F winner should be on an easy path. That group winner is guaranteed to play a third-place team from either Groups A, B or C. And none of those three groups are all that scary. The winner of that Round of 16 game then plays the winner of that second-place matchup from Group D and Group E. That’s about an easy of a road as you can get to the semifinals … as long as you win the Group of Death.
