Former Alabama running back Najee Harris was selected No. 24 overall in the 2021 NFL draft. While some front office members across the league argue running backs should not be drafted in the first round, the move has seemingly already been working for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Harris was a hard worker with the Crimson Tide and has been working even harder with his new team, as coaches had to send him home from rookie minicamp for spending too much time watching film.

ESPN’s Steelers reporter, Brooke Pryor, recently said that she believes Harris is the most important piece of the 2021 Pittsburgh offense for various reasons.

He will undoubtedly take a majority of snaps as the team’s RB1, but with an aging quarterback that is on his way out, the offense may lean on the running back heavily in his first season.
