Egan Bernal has won the 2021 Giro d’Italia.
In doing so, the 24-year-old Colombian adds to his maiden Grand Tour victory, which came at the Tour de France in 2019.
The Ineos Grenadiers rider entered the 21st and final stage with a lead of one minute and 59 seconds over Bahrain Victorious’ Damiano Caruso, a lead that Bernal held with relative ease on Sunday.
He lost only 30 seconds to Caruso, who finished second.
Briton Simon Yates of Team BikeExchange came third, four minutes and 15 seconds behind Bernal.
It was Bernal’s team-mate Filippo Ganna who won the final-day time trial in Milan on Sunday.
