The Indianapolis Colts have ruled out five starters, including left guard Quenton Nelson, ahead of the Week 4 matchup with the Miami Dolphins.
Head coach Frank Reich told reporters Friday that the following players have been ruled out for the road matchup. All five are starters at their respective positions.
-
LG Quenton Nelson (ankle)
-
RT Braden Smith (foot/thumb)
-
CB Rock Ya-Sin (ankle)
-
S Khari Willis (groin)
-
DE Kwity Paye (hamstring)
Nelson being ruled out snaps a streak of 51 consecutive starts for the three-time All-Pro.
The Colts are going to be severely short-handed against the Dolphins and will be doing so with their backs against the wall. Looking to avoid an 0-4 start, the Colts will be leaning on injured quarterback Carson Wentz, who is still playing through two ankle sprains.
The Colts will release the full injury report with designations later on Friday, but this just shows how short-handed they are going into Week 4.
