Sep. 23—COON RAPIDS — The Ridgewater College volleyball team dominated Anoka-Ramsey on Wednesday night, winning 3-0.

The Warriors won 25-11, 25-16, 25-19.

Ridgewater used a balanced attack. Tayler Schmidt, a first-year player from Paynesville, had four ace serves to lead the way. Madison Leyendecker, a setter from Paynesville, had 30 set assists. Adelia Pierson, an outside hitter from Braham, led the Warriors with 10 kills. Six players had four or more.

Sienna Olson, a middle hitter from Red Lake Falls, had three ace blocks. Leyendecker, Pierson and Coral Mattison led Ridgewater with 12 digs. Mattison is from Thief River Falls.

“The team went out, put their practice into play and took the ‘W’ in straight sets,” Ridgewater head coach Amanda Bohlsen said. “We look forward to a weekend of strong competition on the road where we can continue to connect as one team.”

Ridgewater continues its three-match road trip this week by playing at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Rochester Community & Technical College. The Warriors then play at noon Saturday at Western Tech in La Crosse, Wisconsin.
