Chase Elliott reasserted his road-course mastery Sunday, winning in the NASCAR Cup Series’ return to Road America.

Elliott’s No. 9 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet was out front for a race-high 24 of the 62 laps in the Jockey Made in America 250, holding a 5.705-second margin of victory at the end. His second win of the season was the 13th of his Cup Series career. It also marked his sixth win in the last eight road-course races for the Cup Series.
Christopher Bell wound up second in the Joe Gibbs Racing No. 20 Toyota, just ahead of JGR teammate Kyle Busch in third. Kurt Busch drove home in fourth place with Denny Hamlin fifth.
William Byron claimed the Busch Pole Award in Sunday morning qualifying and led the first 15 laps to win Stage 1. He was relegated to a 33rd-place finish after overshooting Turn 5 and running off course on Lap 49. Fellow Chevrolet driver Tyler Reddick netted his first stage win of the year in Stage 2; he placed eighth.
The race was the first event for the Cup Series at the 4.048-mile Wisconsin road course since 1956, when NASCAR Hall of Famer Tim Flock prevailed in a Mercury. The Xfinity Series has raced at the Elkhart Lake venue each year since 2010.
