The Cleveland Browns are getting close to having their entire team returning to the field for Monday Night Football. Thursday, the team announced that they had activated four from the reserve/COVID-19 list:

  • DT Jordan Elliott

  • K Chase McLaughlin

  • CB Greg Newsome II

  • C J.C. Tretter

As noted earlier, Newsome also cleared concussion protocols today but, at that time, was still on the COVID list.

As head coach noted during his media availability, the team is likely to see how their kickers perform at practice before deciding who will be kicking Sunday. With McLaughlin activated and Chris Blewitt signed to the practice squad yesterday, the Browns announced that they released Chris Naggar from the practice squad Thursday.

The team also waived DT Josiah Bronson, who they had claimed off waivers from the New Orleans Saints a few weeks ago.

Today’s moves leave just three players from the active roster still on the reserve/COVID-19 list:

  • LB Tony Fields II

  • LB Elijah Lee

  • OL Alex Taylor

The team also has two practice squad players on that COVID-19 list:

  • QB Nick Mullens

  • DB Tedric Thompson

All five have a chance to come off the lists in advance of Monday Night Football with Mullens being the least likely as the most player placed on most recently.
