The NCAA transfer portal was hit hard by several Big 12 football programs this offseason.
Many of these incoming players have the potential to make an immediate impact for their respective programs in 2021. Kevin Flaherty of 247Sports recently ranked the Big 12’s top 10 most important transfer additions.
Keep in mind that these rankings are regarding the incoming transfers that are expected to make a significant contribution and fill an important need for their new teams. It’s not necessarily the highest rated transfers or prospects.
Former LSU linebacker Ray Thornton, who transferred to Texas in January, was among the 10 players listed. Oklahoma and TCU led the list with two players mentioned, while Oklahoma State was the only Big 12 program to not have an incoming transfer listed.
