Jul. 1—Central Florida product Michael Brooks had three hits, including a home run, double and two RBIs to lead the Duluth Huskies to a 6-3 victory over the La Crosse Loggers Wednesday night in a Northwoods League baseball game before 1,490 at Copeland Park in La Crosse, Wisconsin.

Mike Boeve and Ambren Voitik added two hits apiece and four Huskies pitchers combined to hold the Loggers to five hits and only two earned runs. South Dakota State’s Eli Sundquist closed it out with five strikeouts in just two innings for the Huskies (10-19).

Seth Stroh had a pair of RBIs to lead the Loggers (12-19).

The same teams rematch at 6:35 p.m. Thursday at Copeland Park.
