Austin Hill won the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series regular-season finale Saturday at Watkins Glen International.

With 11 laps to go, the race was red-flagged due to lightning in the Watkins Glen, New York, area. After the hold lifted, the United Rentals 176 was called by NASCAR officials. Sixty-one of the 72 laps were completed.

Hill led a race-high 36 of 61 laps. There were seven lead changes among six drivers.

John Hunter Nemechek ultimately finished second, followed by Sheldon Creed. Todd Gilliland ended up fourth, while Parker Kligerman was fifth.

Zane Smith, Tyler Ankrum, Paul Menard, Sam Mayer and Carson Hocevar rounded out the top-10 finishing order.

Gilliland won Stage 1 on Lap 20, marking his third stage win of 2021. Hill, the pole-sitter, then claimed Stage 2 on Lap 45 to capture his first stage win of the season.

There were five cautions, including the lightning delay and stage conclusions. The two on-track flags came from a Chad Chastain incident in Turn 1 on Lap 7 and then a Derek Kraus-AJ Allmendinger incident in the inner loop on Lap 53.

The 2021 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Playoffs picture was officially set with the finality of the race. The 10-driver field includes Nemechek, Ben Rhodes, Gilliland, Hill, Creed, Smith, Matt Crafton, Hocevar, Stewart Friesen and Chandler Smith.

Up next, the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series heads to the World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway on Aug. 20 (9 p.m. ET on FS1, MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio) for the Round of 10 opener.

Note: Inspection confirmed Hill’s No. 16 Hattori Racing Enterprises Toyota as the race winner. Chandler Smith’s 18th-place finish in the No. 18 Kyle Busch Motorsports Toyota was disqualified as his vehicle failed post-race heights. The infraction doesn’t impact Smith’s spot in the playoffs.
