Baseballs fly at Coors Field. That’s no secret. But the added boost came at the perfect time for the Athletics as their bats have woken up.
“I think we’ve strung together some good games and we’ve had some good at-bats of late and really that’s all you can ask for,” Chad Pinder told NBC Sports California’s broadcast after the A’s 6-3 win over the Colorado Rockies on Saturday.
Pinder went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in the win. That homer traveled 462 feet with 112.2 mph exit velocity.
In their last five games, the A’s have accumulated 38 runs on 57 hits including seven home runs.
“We just got to keep our head down and keep doing the same thing,” Pinder added.
That has helped them on the road also. This is the ninth series this season the A’s have won away from the Oakland Coliseum. Pinder didn’t offer up anything special as to what assisted in that success, but it’s noticed.
“I think we don’t make too much of it, I think for the last couple years we’ve done pretty well on the road,” Pinder said. “We just play our baseball and put our heads down and we look up at the end of nine innings and hopefully, we strung together enough good at-bats, pitched well, and that’s all we try to do.”

The A’s won their fourth straight game Saturday night and have an easy schedule ahead of them.
Whatever they’re doing, it’s working.
