Sep. 8—AUBURN — Four players scored a goal for the Mt. Blue Cougars in their 4-2 field hockey win over the Edward Little Red Eddies on Tuesday.
Adriana Griffen scored first for Mt. Blue, followed by a goal each from Kathleen Yeaton, Eva-Marie Stevens and Taila Kidder.
Edward Little took the early lead, with Leah Thibodeau’s first of two goals. Her second was scored in the fourth. Thibodeau’s teammate Kasey Smith saved five shots.
Mt. Blue goalie Brooklyn Keene saved four shots.
: The Patriots (1-2) scored less than two minutes into the game and never let up against the Rangers (0-2) in Gray.
Teada Cheem scored Gray-New Gloucester’s first three goals of the game, the first with 13:43 left in the first quarter. Olivia Knudsen scored to make it 4-0, and Mia Bowie added two goals round out the scoring.
Ava Apodaca had a hat trick as the Saints (2-0) beat the Rangers (1-1) in Auburn.
Julianne Cook added a goal and an assist, while Bella Pelletier had three assists for the Saints.
Pilar Hewey made six saves for St. Dominic.
The Red Eddies (1-1) used a second half surge to leave the field with a victory over the Broncos (0-2) in Auburn.
Breya Whitman scored in the 48th minute and then Gloria San Pedro scored to give Edward Little a 2-0 lead in the 65th minute before Hampden’s Olivia Airey scored in the 76th.
Hailee Brown saved 12 shots for the Red Eddies, while Hampden Academy’s Logan Daigle stopped eight.
Aidan Loignon had two goals as the Patriots (2-0) beat the Lakers (0-1) in Naples.
Jake Butler, Eben Knedler and Michael Sweeney also scored for Gray-New Gloucester.
Jacob Chadbourne scored the lone goal for Lake Region.
The Hornets and Eagles were forced to settle for a 3-3 tie in Turner.
Leavitt’s Garrett Gaudin scored two goals and teammate Austin Poulin had one. Kaden Trenoweth and Phil Roberge each had an assist for Leavitt.
Maddox Tilas scored a pair of goals for Lincoln and Nick Archer punched in one.
Leavitt goalie Matt Webber made five saves, while Isaac Thompon stopped nine for Lincoln.
Jack Thompson and Mohamed Adow each scored a brace for the Red Eddies (2-0) as they took care of the Broncos (0-2) in Hampden.
Edward Little scored two goals in each half and outshot Hampden 17-8 over the course of the game. Red Eddies goalkeeper Eli St. Laurent saved seven shots.
Hampden’s Collin Scobie scored the lone goal for the Broncos, in the first half. Broncos’ goalkeeper Cooper Moran saved nine shots.
Gabby Chessie scored a pair of goals, with help from Eliana Smith on both occasions, as the Raiders held off the Bucks in Wales.
Paige Gonya preserved the victory with six saves for the Raiders. Oak Hill outshot the Bucks, 21-9.
Megan Hamm turned in a hat trick and teammates Elsa Goebel-Vain, Haily Rooney and Taylor Cotnoir each punched in a pair in the Mustangs’ (2-0) lopsided win over the Cougars (0-0) in Monmouth.
Erica Belz, Brooklyn Federico, Ella Rice and Katie each scored a goal for the Mustangs.
The Hornets (1-1) earned their first victory of the season in a win over the Eagles (1-1) in Newcastle.
Katie Blouin assisted Jalee Boucher’s goal in the first half and scored the first goal of the second half for Leavitt. Ali Denning and Merit Liekelema scored for the Hornets.
Leavitt goalie Carlie Leavitt saved five shots, while Lincoln Academy’s Jillian Chadwick saved 12.
Emma Towers, Jazmin Ryder and Tateum LeClerc each scored goals during the Phoenix’s three-goal outburst in second half, which carried them to victory in Jay.

Owen Keleher and Gerard Costa Farre each added two goals and an assist for Bates. Charlie Cronin also had a goal and an assist, and Juan-Sebastian Niehenke had one goal.
Maxwell Tomlin and Matthew Castella combined for five saves for Maine Maritime.
Brooke Carson opened the scoring with her goal from Page Drinkwater just 3:12 into the contest for the Huskies (1-1) but the host Bobcats (1-0) answered with seven straight goals as they opened a 4-1 haltime lead and cruise to an comfortable victory at Lewiston.
Emily Gianunzio and Grace Hoehl each provide a pair of goals for Bates, while receiving goals from Anna Lindeis, Clare Malone-Kolenberg and Ella Blum.
Julianna Kiklis recorded six saves for Southern Maine, while Grace Biddle stopped two shots for the Bobcats.
