Jul. 8—WILLMAR — Scoring early and often, the Willmar American Legion Baseball team came away with an 8-4 victory against Buffalo on Wednesday at Klemmetson Field.
Leading the charge for Post 167 was Hunter Magnuson, who went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a pair of runs. Jett Salonek also had two hits for Willmar.
Sam Etterman was 1-for-2 with four RBIs. He also got the save with three strikeouts over three innings.
Getting the win on the mound for Post 167 was Andrew Baumgart, who held Buffalo scoreless through four innings, striking out six with four hits and no walks.
Grant Limke, Luke Carnoy, Logan LaPlante and Jayden Ingram each finished with two hits for Buffalo.
Willmar heads to Morris on Friday.
