‘It Kept Getting Bigger and Bigger’ – Diver Mesmerized by Movement of Octopus

A southern keeled octopus propelled itself across the ocean floor near Port Phillip Bay in Victoria while a lucky diver hovered above the creature and documented its movement.Photographer Jules Casey captured the footage and uploaded the video to her Instagram account, saying she “couldn’t believe how huge this octopus made itself look,” and that it was the biggest one she had ever seen.“It kept getting bigger and bigger,” she added. According to the Australian Museum, this type of octopus has an “armspan” of 50 cm.Casey posts other footage of what she sees below the waves near the Mornington Peninsula, documenting interesting marine life, as well as dangers posed to underwater creatures by pollution.
