Jun. 7—CORSICA — Parkston scored three runs in the top of the 10th inning to edge Corsica-Stickney 16-13 in a Sunshine League game that featured 29 runs and 30 hits Sunday.
The Mudcats notched three consecutive singles in the 10th, including the go-ahead RBI single by Spencer Freudenthal. Dan Bonte followed with a two-run single.
Freudenthal also hit a solo home run to tie the game in the eighth after the Horned Frogs jumped out to an early lead following an eight-run second inning. Freudenthal finished 3-for-7 with four RBIs.
Bonte went 3-for-7 with three RBIs for Parkston (2-7), while Nathan Boettcher knocked in two runs. Dillon Stadlman had two hits and an RBI, while Dylan Mogck had a solo home run.
Gavin Zomer went 2-for-5 with three RBIs for Corsica-Stickney (0-4), while Ryan Buck also drove in three runs. Dillon Turner went 3-for-6 with two RBIs and Kris Menning went 3-for-5 with an RBI.
The Mudcats host Crofton (Neb.) at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. The Horned Frogs travel to Alexandria at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
Alexandria 10, Platte 0
ALEXANDRIA — Jed Schmidt struck out 12 batters as Alexandria blanked Platte in Sunshine League action.
Schmidt did not allow a run on five hits and two walks in six innings. Adam Durfee tossed two perfect innings of relief, striking out three. Durfee also went 3-for-4 with two RBIs for the Angels, while Austin Stoltz and Jerrod Zens knocked in two runs apiece. Reggie Slaba went 3-for-4, while Tyson Gau and Peyton Smith had two hits each.
Hunter Hewitt went 2-for-4 for the Killer Tomatoes, as three pitchers allowed nine earned runs on 14 hits and five walks, while Miles Huber struck out seven.
Alexandria (5-1) hosts Corsica-Stickney at 7:30 p.m. Thursday. Platte (3-1) faces Dimock/Emery at 8 p.m. Thursday in Emery.
Kimball/White Lake 24, Colome 3
COLOME — Kimball/White Lake mashed 27 hits and capitalized on 11 Colome errors to score a Pony Hills League win.
Dylanger Pierson went 3-for-6 with five RBIs, including a two-run home run for the Nationals. Wes Kroupa went 4-for-6 with three RBIs, while Brian Zeman went 3-for-5 with three RBIs and Jesse Kroupa went 2-for-4 with four RBIs. Trent Wookey went 4-for-5 with a pair of RBIs and Caden Lenz went 3-for-6 with two RBIs.
Jason Frasch and Sid Bice each drove in a run for the Chaos. Three Colome (2-4) pitchers allowed 15 earned runs and recorded one strikeout.
Kimball/White Lake (4-0) hosts the Plankinton Bankers at 8 p.m. Thursday in White Lake. The Chaos host Miller/Wessington at 8 p.m. Thursday.
Winner/Colome 17, Dimock/Emery 6
EMERY — Winner/Colome hit three home runs to run away from Dimock/Emery in Sunshine League action Sunday.
Dillon Lambley hit a two-run home run to spark a seven-run sixth inning for the pheasants. Lambley went 3-for-4 with three RBIs, while Brendan Kamerzell went 3-for-4 with three RBIs and J.J. Farner went 3-for-6 with three RBIs. Reed Harter and Austin Richey both had two-run home runs. Austin Calhoon knocked in two runs.
Connor Hopkins and Patrick Star combined to allow five earned runs on six hits and seven walks for Winner/Colome (5-1).
Landon Sudbeck drove in a pair of runs and Doug Sudbeck had a pair of hits for the Raptors, while Jason Schmidt and Drew Kitchens each had RBIs. Sam Pischke hit a solo home run. Three Dimock/Emery (4-3) pitchers surrendered 16 earned runs on 21 hits and seven walks, while striking out eight.
The Pheasants travel to Mount Vernon at 8 p.m. Thursday. The Raptors host Platte at 8 p.m. Thursday in Emery.
Miller/Wessington 13, Chamberlain 2
CHAMBERLAIN — Miller/Wessington clubbed 15 hits to take down Chamberlain in Pony Hills League play Sunday.
Kyle Johnson went 4-for-5 with four RBIs for the Outlaws, while Rafael Clemente, Cody Cotton and James White each drove in two runs. Jay Winter went 3-for-5 with an RBI and Dustin Harvey went 3-for-4.
Cotton also surrendered one earned run on five hits and four walks, while striking out nine in seven innings for Miller/Wessington (1-4).
Mike Schwartz and Kyle Forester each had RBIs for the Mallards. Three Chamberlain (0-4) pitchers allowed 12 earned runs on 15 hits and five walks, while striking out nine.
The Mallards face the Plankinton Gold Sox on Thursday. The Outlaws travel to Colome at 8 p.m. Thursday.
