Aug. 3—The Rosen Express eliminated the Benson Plowboys from the Region 9C tournament at Ortonville.
Rosen led 5-0 and 6-1 before Benson rallied with a five-run fifth. The Plowboys led 8-6 heading into the bottom of the seventh, when the Express tied it up. Benson reclaimed the lead in the top of the eighth, but Rosen scored three times in the bottom of the eighth.
Benson finishes its inaugural season with a 4-12 record.

Brian Voigt homered twice and got the complete-game pitching win in helping the Brainerd Bees to the exhibition win at Bird Island.
Voigt went 3-for-5 with three runs and six RBI, also smacking a double. On the mound, he struck out nine, walked one and scattered seven hits and one earned run.
Logan Swan went 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a stolen base for Bird Island.
