Florida State expects to hear their name called during Monday’s selection show for the 2021 NCAA baseball tournament due to losing to Duke earlier in the week, wasn’t going to advance to the semi-finals of the ACC baseball tournament this weekend.
That didn’t keep the Seminoles from showing up and handing No. 4 Miami their second loss of the tournament, this one a 6-3 final in favor of Florida State.
Parker Messick allowed five hits for Florida State, as the Seminoles now look to head to what would be their 43rd consecutive NCAA tournament appearance.
Robby Martin’s RBI-single in the first started the scoring for the Seminoles before Dylan Simmons added a two-run double.
The win moved Florida State to 30-22 on the year while Miami falls to 32-19 and awaits word on if they’ll make their 47th all-time NCAA baseball tournament appearance.
