1) DON’T TURN THE BALL OVER

Last week Zach Wilson gave away the ball like it was candy on Halloween. His four interception performance was one of the worst rookie performances in recent memory. Patriots head coach Bill Belichick does make rookie quarterback’s life miserable but there was no excuse for that outing. This week Wilson has to play a more boring brand of football and take the singles before he goes for the home runs. Let’s see how much he learned in a week.

2) LIMIT BIG PLAYS

Broncos quarterback Teddy Bridgewater has been pushing the ball down the field to create explosive plays this season. The Jets have done a good job of limiting that. But Sam Darnold and Mac Jones weren’t trying to push that ball down the field against them. Both logged under eight intended air yards per attempt. Bridgewater is at 10 intended yards per attempt, so he’s going to sling it. After a solid start to the year, the Jets secondary must rise to this challenge.

3) CONTAIN BRONCOS RUSH ATTACK

The Broncos are averaging 130 yards on the ground per game. That’s fifth best in the NFL. They’re led by Melvin Gordon and Javonte Williams who both have speed, power and vision. The main reason why the Jets need to limit the rushing attack is because Broncos offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur wants to combine that with play action. Bridgewater leads the NFL in play action attempts. If their run game is working, their the play action game will be potent and create big plays.
